Google Maps Navigator is the coolest GPS app we've seen to date. It's not perfect. It's still in beta, and it's missing a lot of stuff. Don't toss out your portable navigation device just yet. But it's clear Google is raising the bar for voice-enabled, turn-by-turn GPS navigation. Granted, one service on one expensive phone on one carrier will not vaporize the entire PND market anytime soon. But it could certainly cause big trouble for TeleNav and Networks in Motion, if not Garmin and TomTom.
When it rains, it pours, huh, Google? Latitude allows you to see where your friends and family are on Google Maps™. Your location is not shared unless you agree to it. You need to join Latitude, and then invite your friends to view your location or accept their invitations.
Before you begin on your phone, you need to have the latitude gadget added to your iGoogle homepage.
