Various studies of United States immigration have revealed that during the year two thousand and two, which was after the tragic September eleven event in the United States, fifty five percent of all Americans were in favour of decreasing legal immigration to America while twenty seven percent wanted to see it kept at the same level and fifteen percent wanted it to be increased. During nineteen ninety six, seventy percent of people living in America wanted to see the reduction of United States immigration to a figure of three hundred thousand every year and twenty percent of American citizens hoped that all immigration to the United States would be permanently stopped. Unemployment is the most important concern that Americans have when it comes to immigration to America.
