Designs and Styles for Building Structures

For many centuries people had been fascinated with many different forms of arts, including architecture. As ancient as they sound, the Greeks introduced and developed three architectural systems and style known as Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. They all exhibit distinctive proportion and detail in structural terms. These architectural system spread all over the world which is still relevant up to this day and age.

Most of these architectural styles, like the Doric architecture, are usually used in temple designs in Mainland Greece, as well as in some parts of Italy and Sicily. On the one hand, the Ionic style looks more elegant and thinner than the doric style. Ionic architectural style is used for big public structures like theatres of various size and function such as the Grand Opera theatre houses and other grand cathedrals spread across continental Europe.
