The Potential use of Human Stem Cells
by waynechad on Nov 6, 2009
The potential use of human stem cells and the outcomes is huge in term of saving lives, but many people are against that and consider it unethical because we would be using human tissue or cells. This debate has gone back in all minds since we are seeing more and more stem cell banks and cord blood banks being developed whether they are private stem cell banks or public. Those banks are specialized in stem cell and cord blood collection and stem cell and cord blood storage. The outcomes of using human stem cells are huge. Using those stem cells could greatly help in curing diseases or help create new medicine. For example, it could be completely possible to create viable and healthy heart muscle cells in laboratory and then transplant those healthy cells into a patient with heart disease. Obviously, those cells would have to come from that same patient to prevent any risk of the new cells being rejected by the body of the patient. Another example is that cells taken from a...Read More >>
