Stimulus Put to Work - With Solar

One of the benefits of photovoltaics is the advancement of renewable energy. One company, Soyndra, is putting a $535 million dollar federal loan to work in a photovoltaic solar panel plant in Fremont, California. After the failure of the auto industry and the loss of jobs in Fremont, Soyndra moved into town to take advantage of the exess labor. Soyndra claims to have a unique, flat solar panel. Due to the way ultaviolet light hits the photovoltaic solar panel, it is able to convert more of the energy into electricity. The solar panels lie flat instead of requiring an angled mount. This makes the solar panel ideal for installation on flat buildings. Each panel is a cylindrical tube, allowing the entire roof to capture an optimal amount of sunlight no matter where the sun is during the day. This company is excited about its prospects.
