Alibaba Group Decided to Donate 2 Million Yuan for Haiti Scarce Medicine

The local time on January 12 th afternoon, Republic of Haiti, located in the north of the Caribbean Sea, occurred 7.3 earthquake, which caused a large number of houses collapsed and heavy casualties. It is the severest earthquake through the recent 200 years in Haiti .   According to the latest UN estimation, the death toll was about 50 thousand; but some Haiti officials said on 15 th that the earthquake may cause 200 thousand people death. Many reports about the death number are still having no accurate source, and the number disparity is very large. Up to local time January 16 th before dawn, at least ten thousand of people are still missing; and nearly ten thousand of victims’ remains have been digged out.
