When I first moved back to Michigan from New York City I wasn't very thrilled with the idea. You see I had met some business associates early on that gave me some stern advice. They mentioned that many of Michigan's business community had a "thing" about work. This woman informed me about – “The Ideal Michigan Dream”. Apparently, it was considered OK and even looked up highly upon if one committed fraud against the auto industry with work injury claims. At this point the employee could take their money and quit their job and start a little lawn company or a house painting business. I laughed at this idea because to me it sounded ridiculous. Then I realized she wasn't smiling and was dead serious. Still, I didn’t believe it. The idea sounded really far fetch to me.
