MAPK Pathways – Molecules, Their Mechanisms and Role as an Anti-Cancer Substance

by johnchang on Aug 31, 2011

There are various molecules which are used as anti-cancer preparations. Each molecule has its own characteristics and properties. One of the great and emerging classes of molecules which is under high consideration belongs to the MAPK pathways and its system. The following information is based upon the latest research and development with respect of molecules under MAPK pathways.
WHAT ARE MAPK PATHWAYS?
The signaling pathways which are called as conserved pathways activate the mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPKS) system. These are the molecules that rely upon the extracellular stimulations to the intracellular response. MAPKS regulate various functions inside the cell. For instance, their functions include the regulation of cell proliferation, motility, differentiation and survival, etc. These are the functions that are known to be mediated by various members of the family having MAPK activated protein kinase system.
