What exactly is Bladeless Lasik Surgery?

Traditionally, a LASIK surgery involves a microkeratome or a metal blade that cuts the corneal flap, that is folded back just before the surgeon applies laser power for reshaping the cornea. This system has been well in practice given that the time LASIK eye surgery has been discovered. However, resulting from the unpredictability with the overall performance of this equipment and repeated reports of them getting the source of frequent complications, the bladeless LASIK or the IntraLase technology has come into vogue. The bladeless technology employs a laptop controlled laser instead of a handheld mechanical device as employed in normal LASIK surgery, and is considered a safer and greater choice.
