How to edit the APN settings on your iPad?

by iPad2Go on May 21, 2010

The APN defines the network path for all Cellular Data connectivity. Incorrect entries in the fields may disable the cellular data connectivity. To verify the proper APN information, contact the cellular carrier for the SIM card you are using.

Settings > Cellular Data > APN Settings

To edit your APN, tap each field to enter the APN settings provided by your carrier. Tap Cellular Data at the top to save the changes to the APN and return to the Cellular Data settings.

If you are using iPad in an enterprise environment, your IT manager may have set up a special APN for you to use. If this is the case, do not edit the APN directly on iPad. Contact your IT Manager before you change your APN. If you accidentally change an APN that was set for you by an IT Manager using a configuration profile, you can change it back. Remove the configuration profile and then add it again. For more information, contact your IT Manager.
