The National Research Council or NCR reports on various aspects of United States immigration and found that immigrants from the Latin American countries were a net cost when comparing taxes paid to the social services received from the Latin American group of immigrants. However, the report or analysis also revealed that, in general, there was a net economic expansion as a result of the demand in pay for higher skilled employees, reduced prices for goods and services manufactured by immigrant labour and people who owned large amounts of capital experienced more productivity on the work floor for lower wages. Findings from the report also show that some immigrants specialise in certain jobs, especially the low skilled domestic jobs, in states and certain areas that did not possess these specialist low skills prior to the immigrants settling down in those places.
