Statistics of United States immigration trends show and prove that more people left America during the early nineteen thirties than those who immigrated to the United States. The government of the United States put into place a Mexican Repatriation program between the years of nineteen twenty nine and nineteen thirty nine. The aim of this repatriation program was to persuade and help Mexican people in America to voluntarily move back to Mexico. Unfortunately, of the four hundred thousand Mexicans who were deported back to Mexico during this ten year period many were deported against their will. In nineteen sixty five the Immigration and Nationality Act Amendments or more commonly known as the Hart-Cellar Act completely removed the previously imposed system of national origin quotas.
