Figuring Out Your Heart Rate Limits In Order to Set Your Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor Correctly

To be able to train properly with your Bluetooth heart rate monitor or for that matter any heart rate monitor you need to know what your upper and lower heart rate limits are. This is especially true when doing an aerobic workout. The mistake most people make is setting their max limit too high as this usually takes them beyond their ideal range for burning fat. Yet that is what a lot of people are seeking to do when working out.

Heart rate training is all about getting optimal training results by training within specific heart rate zones. Unfortunately many people without realizing or understanding it train harder than necessary because they don’t know their true maximal heart rate or resting heart rate.

Your minimum heart rate is simply the rate at which your heart beats when you are completely at rest. This can be found by simply sitting in a chair for several minute (5 min +) with your monitor on and see what your minimum rate is.
