The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy Expands Group Therapy

Donald Kirkpatrick is the Clinical Director for this London based Counselling Practice.

“Group Therapy has been widely used and has been a standard treatment option for over 50 years. In studies comparing group psychotherapy to individual therapy, group therapy has been shown to be as effective and sometimes even more effective. But provision in the London area is scanty enough in the NHS, and almost unknown in private counselling services. Here at Lacap we believe that this treatment option should be promoted as a first choice option. This also means raising awareness of it with the public. People associate 'what is therapy?' with 'what is individual counselling?” - but a one to one therapy is not always the most suitable intervention.
