Poker Freerolls - to Play or Not to Play?

Freerolls are very interesting to play, but each day it is harder to find those with money payouts. For example, many freerolls at PokerStars are satellites to other tournaments where winners receive cash payments or the games like Hubble's NLH where the top 99 finishers get a ticket to Round 2 Freeroll, where the total cash prize is $2,000. Looks like a good idea for the tournaments with no entry fee, but to receive $276 for the first place, you have to beat 4,999 other players.

That is the essence of freerolls. They are free, but a lot of people want to participate in them. This means that you have to play against a huge number of rivals, most of which are unpredictable and tend to rapidly increase the bankroll to low risk. Your pocket aces are rarely to be reversed, and in most situations you will fight with several players. Freeroll player thinks that he loses nothing and becomes involved in every hand without looking at the pocket cards and chances.
