The fourth generation Ford Taurus engines cover the years of 2000 to 2007. It's the fourth of six generations and the cars in the series have a 155 or optional 200 horsepower engine. There were two types of Ford Taurus engines. The first engine was a 3.0 Liter SFI Vulcan V6 and the second engine was the 3.0 Liter DOHC Duratec 30 V6. After awhile though the Vulcan become the only engine used for the Ford Taurus and they discontinued the Duratec. The models during these years were made to seem more traditional and the same engines from the previous generation were used.
