If so, you can read this article to learn how to speed up your Windows XP startup and shut down. You just need to follow the steps below: 1. Disable some unnecessary startup items. a. Open System Configuration Utility. Click “Start” and “Run”, type in “msconfig” and click “OK” to open System Configuration Utility. b. Click tab “Startup”. Select the unnecessary startup items and disable them. This will prevent unnecessary programs from starting with Windows System and prolong the startup. 2.
