Why fat removal surgery should not be used as a quick win

Fat removal surgery – otherwise known as liposuction – is not a form of weight loss surgery and it should never be considered as such. Those people who are medically overweight or obese are advised to find their optimum weight through a combination of diet and exercise and then to see if there are any stubborn pockets of fat remaining that can’t be shifted by switching to a healthier lifestyle.

It is important to remember this because an ethical plastic surgeon or clinic should not recommend liposuction surgery if you are significantly overweight for your height, or if you have not already attempted to lose body fat and tone up with a change of lifestyle. With this in mind, ensure that you thoroughly research not only the cosmetic surgery clinic itself but also the cosmetic surgeon.
