Under the Conveyancers Licensing Act 2003 it is a legal obligation that all  licensed conveyancers  disclose the costs and other matters in relation to the service they are offering you upfront when you request a  conveyancing quote . This disclosure to the client must include: -   the amount of the costs if known -   the basis of calculating the costs (if the amount of the costs is not known) -   the billing arrangements -   the clients rights in relation to the hearing of disputes about the fees by the Tribunal -   any conflict of beneficial interest of a kind required to be disclosed by the regulations -   any other matter required to be disclosed by the regulations. Under the Act all disclosures must be made in writing and expressed in clear plain English.
