Tim Phillips bringing hope to underdog Republicans in traditionally blue state of Oregon
Tim Phillips, CEO of Portland firm Phillips & Company , is hoping the help end the Democrat’s decades-long reign of Oregon’s top office by stumping for Republican candidate Chris Dudley in this year’s governors race.
Mr. Dudley, who stands 6-foot-11 and is a former player for the Portland Trail Blazers NBA basketball team, is a “unique personality” whose star power – Republicans hope – will change the state from blue to red.
Tim Phillips, CEO of the Portland, Oregon-based investment firm involved in efforts to revive the state’s GOP, said, “Dudley is a unique personality who might be exactly what the Republicans need right now. He’s totally bringing a fresh face and fresh personality to the message.”
