A building may consist of several types of staircase depending on the architectural design. Various types can be placed in different locations to improve the structural features and to facilitate access to rooms and floors. Although some buildings are purposefully designed with a single type of staircase to avoid confusion among users - thereby improving the productivity of the building as a whole -, there are still many buildings that use many types for aesthetics and advertising purposes.
