Flash Banner Design: Five Things to Remember

Flash banner design is a precarious business. Due to their relative sophistication there’s a lot that can go wrong with flash banners. Most Internet marketing companies will recommend static banners, however when the right care is taken flash banners can be just as effective. The following is a list of five things to avoid when designing a flash banner:
1. First and foremost you need to limit the file size. Many people are tempted to go all out with their flash banners with live action video and music but these are simply impractical. A flash banner that loads slowly, causes the parent page to load slowly or fails to load at all is a useless banner.
2. Simple images and text are the cornerstone of good flash banner design. Minimize the amount of text you use or you’ll have to scroll it quicker than people can read comfortably.
