Microsoft stopped Apple's App Store’s registering trademark application

January 12 pm news, Microsoft is to the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) submitted against the application to ban Apple "App Store" application for a registered trademark.

Microsoft believes that Apple 's "App Store" brand names are too general and should not be protected. "Apple tried to monopolize 'App Store' this phrase to shop for their own applications." Microsoft said in objection to the application.

Microsoft believes that this behavior is ridiculous monopoly, "there was strong evidence, 'App Store' is a common name, refers to the application of a provision store."

Microsoft also lists these "indisputable facts." For example, according to the dictionary definition of terms, App Store are generic and vocabulary, and Apple does in the application document, "App Store" is a "shop."
