As if your teenager didn’t have enough problems, now they have developed acne. Hormones can activate breakouts, but with some common sense and a daily regimen, acne can be lessened or even eliminated.
Although washing the face often may seem like a good idea, it is important to only wash once in the morning and once in the evening with a gentle cleanser. This will keep the skin from drying out from soap or too much washing. The water should be lukewarm, which will open the pores. It is also important to avoid touching the face any more than necessary, as the oils on your fingers can spread to your skin and cause a breakout. Drug stores offer oil blotting papers that can help pull the oil from your skin. If you are unsure of which acne treatment to purchase, ask your pharmacist.
