Acne is a common human skin disease characterized with the areas of skin. It affects the skin with intense population of sebaceous follicles. These areas include the face, upper part of chest, and the back.

Acne occurs during teen years and continues till adulthood. It is generally caused by an increase in the sex hormones. It diminishes over time or atleast decrease upto early twenties. However, in some people, it may continue till thirties, forties, or more.

Acne scars are the result of the inflammation within the dermis caused due to acne. Scar is created by the wound trying to heal itself causing too much of collagen in one place. There is variety of acne scar treatments available.

Acne is formed by collection of sebum, bacteria and dead cells trapped in the lining of hair follicle. 20% to 40% suffer from the problem of acne.
