From within the jungles of the Amazon, the story and overall health amazing benefits of the acai berry have went around the entire world. This little, purple acai berry grows up on palm trees which usually are precise to the area and have long been part of the diets of the local many people of the Amazon for hundreds of years.

The folklore associated with this super fruit stems from a period when a young, local Amazonian girl named Iaca passed away beneath a palm tree bearing the acai berry. Her daddy, the tribal chief, feared that there would not be an adequate amount of food for his tribe had ordered the deaths of all newborn babies, as well as that of his daughter. After the death of her child, a emotionally vulnerable Iaca thought that she had listened to a baby crying followed the sound to the palm tree.
