Convert h.264 footage from a Canon 5D/7D to Apple ProRes 422 for FCP(Final Cut Pro)

In order to be able to work with Canon DSLR footage (as from a 5D Mark II or 7D), you need to convert the h.264 into a more edit friendly format such as Apple ProRes 422. This tutorial shows you in detail how to ingest and convert this footage.
Software you need: Foxreal Video Converter for Mac
Step by step guide for you:
1. Download and install this Apple ProRes 422 Video Converter ( download link , learn more ), run it.
2. Import your H.264 footage from a Canon 5D/7D, click “Add Video” button.
3. Choose the output profile that is Apple ProRes 422, then click “Convert” button to start converting.
4.Now, you can drag the converted Apple ProRes 422 Video to Final Cut Pro.
Tip: must use FCP 6 and above, if you are using FCP 5, you can try Apple InterMedia Codec profile from this Mac Video Converter:
