40 out of the 83 Orange County(OC) ZIPs saw home sale gains in the said period, but only Newport Beach (Zip - 92661) gained by over 100% over the past month. On a yearly basis, however, the Newport Beach made little progress in its homes sale as the recession curbed sales and prices early this year.
The Newport Beach Homes median selling price goes up to $ 4.3 million this month which is also the highest in Orange County. Other five Zips had median price over $ 1 million, though its competitor, Newport Coast has $ 1.5 million average price but still is far behind.
As compared to last year’s, countywide homes sale are down by 0.6%, although things are looking up on a larger scale. Research showed that Sale for Newport Beach Homes have been moving upward for the past 14 months, so experts believe the dip is just a temporary slowdown.
At the end of this month median Newport Beach house prices are also down countywide. As compared to last month, there is 3.4% fall in its prices. The average Sale in Newport Beach homes were $425,000 as compared to $440,000 in last month. However, it’s still a 15% rise from the cyclical low hit in January 2009. Prices last peaked in June 2007, when the median selling price was $645,000.
