How to cultivate children's reading interest

Reading is a lifelong education. Reading can change the children and benefit them in the whole life. How to cultivate children's reading interests, here I will put forward my own views.

Comply with the children's psychological characteristic. Choose the first batch of books to be which they love to read, make the child to be interested in a good book. Parents cultivate skills are related to children's reading interest. In the beginning, parents should choose meticulously, provide some beautiful printed, rich and funny content and plot in line with the characteristics of children's imagination and thinking, such as animal’s album of painting, animation book.

Be flexible to children's reading process. Curious, active, lack of patience and endurance are children's common psychological characteristics. They like to flip through a book and turn to another. Parents should not blame him. Usually, in this stage, parents should feel satisfied if children put a book in hand and read with relish. Because, this comply with children's early reading psychology which is an important mark in children's reading way.

Provide children with an easy reading environment and give the reading choice to them. Reading is a kind of learning and also a kind of enjoyment. Therefore, in the process of reading, parents need to respect children's choice, not control their reading books of content, type and extent. Normally, It's better the child read books content range is wider. Generally speaking, from the primary school, the majority of children's reading content choices have gradually formed their hobbies and interests. Parents should observe, understand and guide, and without interference redundantly.

Read with children and set good examples for them. Experts say parents should as much as possible read with children together at home and make the child to read books. At the same time, they still can communicate children with the study methods and experiences, encourage children to retell the plot or specific content, speak out their point of views regularly. Then, they can analysis and discuss together. If they do that often, children's reading interest may become stronger, and their reading level will gradually improved.
